Rosario Islands - Colombia

As the name indicates Isla Grande is the biggest island of the archipelago Nuestra Señora del Rosario. It has around 200 hects., and in it are found the three characteristic ecosystems of the islands: The coastal and interior lagoons, the mangroves and the very dry tropical forests. At the interior of the island there is an environmental interpretation path where the visitor will acknowledge the   Enjoy the Sun, the Air, and the Open Sea as you cruise to a most beautiful place. The Rosario's at Gente De Mar Resort- lots of things to see, and do. Where romance and fun awaits. A one hour boat ride through the Bay of Cartagena, will bring you to Paradise, as you glide through the clear turquoise waters and past golden beaches... It's spectacular! The Rosario Islands Natural Park offers private facilities where all can enjoy the natural beauty and nature. We highly recommend at least one nights stay on the Islands. Day trips fun, but you will miss out on the sunsets, and the "big sky"nights with star filled skys that are special over the islands.  The islands are coral formations which have grown in size over hundreds of years, so just about anywhere you will find good Snorkling and Scuba Diving. Also, the Rosario's still waters make it attractive for water sking, canoing, swimming and wind surfing. Inquire at your hotel and they will provide you with the equipment, Guides or Certified Instructors needed for your water activities. lots of things to see, and do.

KAYAKS/CANOE
These are available to enjoy the many aspects of the ocean marine and aquatic life. All we ask is that you sign out the paddles at the front desk. We require to maintain your identification on file and that you take life preservers. While an inconvenience, this is really for your own safety and enjoyment. Children under fifteen (15) must be accompanied by an adult on the watercraft.

FISHING
Try your luck in catching the "big one" or the "small one" off our fishing pier. Isla Grande is known for many game fish including Tarpon, Bonefish, Snook and others. You are not required to have a fishing license. If you catch one large enough to eat, you can take it to our Restaurant and they will cook it for you. Fish the Fabulous waters and experience angling at it's finest.

Our local experience and knowledge of the area also allows us to take you to the best local fishing and snorkeling  explorations beyond The Island.
